Honey DJ Agency

Terms of Service

Effective Date: January 1st, 2025

Welcome to Honey, a boutique DJ and MC agency based in Los Angeles. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and booking of any DJ, MC, or entertainment services (“Services”) offered by Honey (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By booking or using our Services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services Provided

Honey provides curated DJ and MC talent, music direction, and optional production add-ons for luxury weddings, corporate events, private parties, and brand activations. Services may include—but are not limited to—live DJ sets, event MCs, DJ/MC hybrids, and equipment rental or setup.

2. Booking & Retainer

To confirm your event date, a 50% retainer of the total package amount is required. This retainer secures your date and talent. Half of this retainer (25% of the total amount) is refundable for up to 30 days following booking. After this window, the retainer becomes non-refundable. If the event is canceled within 21 days of the scheduled date, the full event balance becomes due in full.

We reserve the right to decline a booking request for any reason.

3. Payment Terms

The initial 50% retainer is due upon booking. The remaining balance is due no later than 7 days prior to the event. Any outstanding balance not paid by the event date will incur a 5% late fee. If overtime occurs, it will be approved on-site and added to your final invoice. Overtime payments are not collected at the event.

Payments can be made via bank transfer, credit card, or another method specified in your invoice.

Late payments may incur additional fees or risk cancellation of service.

4. Cancellation & Postponement Policy

If you cancel your event:

  • More than 30 days prior: Deposit is non-refundable, but no further payment is due.

  • Less than 30 days prior: Full payment is required unless otherwise agreed.

If we must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illness, emergency), we will provide a suitable replacement or issue a full refund of any fees paid.

If your event is postponed, your retainer may be transferred to a new date, subject to our availability. A 25% date change fee will apply to secure the new date. We highly recommend locking in your new date as soon as possible to ensure continuity.

5. Client Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Providing access to one standard 20-amp wall outlet, stage area, and setup time as agreed

  • Ensuring safety and security for our team and equipment

  • Sharing venue-specific rules in advance (load-in instructions, noise ordinances, etc.)

  • For events with four or more hours of performance time, we require that hot vendor meals be provided for our team. The number of required meals can be confirmed two weeks prior to the event date.

Failure to meet these requirements may affect our ability to perform.

6. Technical Requirements

We will coordinate all technical needs (sound, lighting, DJ booth) prior to the event. If production is handled by the client or venue, it is your responsibility to ensure all specifications are compatible with our setup.

For any outdoor event, we require adequate shade and weather protection for all DJ and AV gear. If shade or protection is not provided and our equipment is exposed to direct sun, rain, or other elements, we reserve the right to cancel the performance in order to protect the integrity of our gear. We are not responsible for malfunctions caused by inadequate conditions.

7. Force Majeure

We are not liable for cancellations or delays caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to acts of nature, government restrictions, pandemics, venue closures, or power outages.

8. Intellectual Property

All DJ sets, mixes, branding materials, logos, and content created or shared by Honey remain our intellectual property. You may not reproduce, distribute, or reuse this content without our written consent.

9. Photography & Promotion

By booking Honey, you grant us permission to use photos or video captured at your event (unless otherwise agreed) for marketing and promotional purposes across social media, websites, or advertising channels.

10. Limitation of Liability

While we strive for excellence in every event, Honey is not liable for:

  • Client dissatisfaction related to music style if agreed-upon preferences were followed

  • Venue, vendor, or guest behavior impacting our performance

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Our liability shall never exceed the amount paid for the Services.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Updates will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.

12. Non-Solicitation

From the event date through 12 months after, clients agree not to hire, solicit, or encourage any Honey talent or contractors to work for them independently without our written consent. This helps us maintain fairness and protects our community of creatives.

13. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Los Angeles County.
